Home remedies give temporary solution but it’s effective in many senses. I am suggesting some home remedies which I tried at home.
This is absolutely an ancient method. My Grandma always told me to place a clove against the sore area until the pain goes away. Another way is to use a paste made up of ground cloves and water. Instead of water you can use clove oil or olive oil. Use the paste on the tooth as much as you can. This works as anesthesia.
SALT & PEPPER:
Try to make a paste out of salt, pepper and water. Do not use pepper much at all as it will make inner part of your mouth to be inflamed. Now apply the paste to the affected area. But there is a point that if your paste is spicier, then it will make your toothache problem to be cured easily. It can make a little harsh sensation but you will notice that your pain will be gone for a long time after the application of the paste.
At the time of toothache pain chew two tender guava leaves. When the juice of the leaves reaches to the sore area then it will start to alleviate toothache problem. There is another solution. I taught it from my grandmother. Take few leaves of guava then boil it with some water. Let the water to get infused by the flavor or juice of guava leaves. Then add a small amount of salt in the mixture. Then after it’s lukewarm in nature use it as a mouthwash. This is an effective method. I have tried this method whenever I am dealing with toothache pain.
Garlic has got an antibiotic property which slows down the bacterial effects of our tooth. Crush a clove of garlic and apply to the affected area. You can add salt if you want. Garlic scent is not all time favorable for many person. You can also use garlic powder. If you wish, you can chew one clove of garlic. But I know for some people it’s not possible.
Take a fresh piece of ginger then chew it as like garlic. Ginger also has some antibacterial property like garlic. You can use another method. Infuse some ginger root in some water. Then use the water solution for gargling. It will definitely help you.

This is my mother’s favorite way to lessen toothache pain. For me, it is an effective way to diminish tooth pain problem. I usually put ice pack on the jaw outside of the mouth. Sometimes, I used to let ice to melt in my mouth around the sore tooth. More often I swished my mouth out with cold ice water. For some people it is unbearable to swallow cold water but it make the toothache area to be paralyzed in some cases.
Don’t panic after hearing paralyzed I meant it as a short time basis situation that your tooth will not react to any bacterial disease action after using cold ice water.
Chew some fresh peppermint leaves. Try to chew on the place where your tooth is hurting a lot. I know that sometime it’s not possible because of the immense pain. If you do not have fresh leave you can use dried leaves.
I used this process many more times and I found it very efficient. It is very simple. Take a cotton ball and lightly moist it with water then dips into baking soda. Now you must make sure that the whole cotton ball is covered with soda. Now place it to the affected area. If you don’t want to place cotton ball you can a solution by using baking soda. Take a glass of lukewarm water and then ass 1 tbsp of baking soda in the water. Now mix the soda into the water then use it as a mouth wash. Reply this process thrice a day.
